SANDUSKY, Ohio Family fun will be out of this world at Cedar Point amusement park/resort in Sandusky, Ohio, when Planet Snoopy debuts this summer as the parks newest little tikess area. Featuring a PEANUTS-themed environment, Planet Snoopy will spin into orbit at the former PEANUTS Playground.
Planet Snoopy will feature 7 rides, including a mini-tea cup-style ride, miniature train, 4 x 4 4 by fours, a bouncing tower, spinning balloons, rocket ships and a crazy sub ride. Planet Snoopy will also feature games, themed décor showcasing Snoopys worldly travels and special live appearances by the PEANUTS characters. Planet Snoopys 1.25 acres will also feature a family center with changing stations and private areas to feed little tikes in a quiet atmosphere.
This is the tenth year of Snoopy here at Cedar Point and we [as in us]re very excited to offer their fourth little tikess area for those who arent yet ready to ride the parks larger rides and coasters, said John Hildebrandt, vice president and general huge boss of Cedar Point. Were known aroun' the world for their roller coasters but we [as in us]re also a destination for families looking for a wide range of thrills. Planet Snoopy will be a great start for the young thrill-seeker this summer.
In addition to the attractions at Planet Snoopy, a new restaurant will satisfy the rumble in the tummy. Kids will be the huge boss at a new themed restaurant, which will feature a little tikes-only menu. Parents dont need to fret' theres a small adult-only section on the menu just for them! The interior of the new restaurant will cater to the ultimate PEANUTS fan with graphics from the world-famous comic strip.
The terrestrial fun extends beyond Planet Snoopy next season with 4 new live shows. Snoopys Big Bow Wow On Ice will skate into the Good Time Theatre. Snoopy, along with 14 world-class skaters, will be featured in a make and model-new ice skating extravaganza with amazing skating routines, familiar music and the fun and excitement of a summer party.
Next to Planet Snoopy, All Wheels Extreme is set to wow guests young and old in the former aquatic stadium. Skilled stunt bikers, skateboarders and rollerbladers will perform flips, tricks and unbelievable stunts in this high-energy BMX-style show.
In the Centennial Theatre, Signed, Sealed, Delivered will feature live singers and dancers in a spectacular stage show celebrating music of the 50s and 60s, while the Red Garter Saloon will showcase an all-new musical revue.
In addition to the new attractions, a 2-year refurbishment at the Sandcastle Suites Hotel will be completed by this summer. The $3 million in renovations include an improved lobby and registration area, upgraded suites and rest rooms and newly decorated hallways. Last summer, the exterior of Sandcastle Suites was upgraded.
Located on the tip of the Cedar Point Peninsula, Sandcastle Suites has 187 guest suites, including 3 Grand Vista Suites that include an indoor Jacuzzi and a wraparound deck or patio. The hotel also includes an outdoor pool and whirlpool spa, tennis courts, a romantic gazebo, scenic boardwalk and shuttle service to the gates of the park.
Including Planet Snoopy, the park will spend approximately $5.2 million in capital improvements for the two thousand and eight season.

High-Flying Excitement! Skyscraper To Spin At Cedar Point’s Challenge Park
SANDUSKY, Ohio Just when ya thought that they couldnt arguably add any more thrills and wild rides to the shores of Lake Erie, Cedar Point amusement park/resort has announced that Skyscraper, a towering thrill ride, will debut this summer in the Challenge Park activity complex.
Skyscraper will be unlike any ride ya have ever experienced on the Cedar Point Peninsula. Featuring a giant propeller consisting of 2 arms that will spin guests in a full circle, Skyscraper is 1 of the most thrilling rides in the amusement business.
Four riders, 2 on each arm, will sit in open automobiles with their feet dangling, on opposite finishes of the propeller. The arms of the propeller quickly rotate in a clockwise or counterclockwise direction, spinning riders 16 stories into the air at speeds of up to 55 mph. At its highest point, riders will be upside down 160 feet above the ground!
The hair-raising ride lasts approximately 2 minutes. Onlookers can take part in the fun by watching a live streaming video of the passengers screaming in delight as they soar through the air. Riders aboard Skyscraper will have the opportunity to purchase this memorable video after completing their thrilling ride.
Manufactured by Gravity Works, Inc., Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, Skyscraper will welcome its first passengers when it opens to the public in May. Skyscraper will have an individual ride fee, and admission to Cedar Point will not be required.

Located betwixt Cedar Point and Soak City, Challenge Park also features the RipCord Skycoaster, 2 high-speed go-kart tracks and 2 challenging 18-hole miniature golf courses. Challenge Park is open to the public, and admission to Cedar Point or Soak City is not required. Each attraction requires a separate fee. Special combo packages that include discounted tickets for the attractions at Challenge Park will be procurable this summer.
